Love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves
Under pressure
--David Bowie, Under Pressure
Gen Xers: Cue the bassline. We’re living the remix of Under Pressure — juggling college tuition, elder care, mortgage payments, and that weird knee pain that showed up last Tuesday. We're squeezed tighter than Bowie’s pants in the '80s — between our kids who think money comes from Venmo and our parents who still believe a cup of coffee should cost 50 cents. Meanwhile, we’re trying to build our own financial health, but it feels like our cassette tapes, always unraveling.
Spoiler alert: it’s not our last dance. We’ve still got moves. We’ve survived dial-up, electric typewriters, and shoulder pads. We can survive this too — and come out with financial confidence that’s stronger than a mixtape made for your crush in 1987.
So let’s turn down the pressure and turn up the planning. Because Gen X doesn’t crack — we just get clever.
Let's tackle the reality of financial life and make some plans.
We grew up figuring things out on our own. But for retirement, a little inside info can change everything. No fluff, no jargon. Just a clear, smart financial plan built for the generation that knows how to get things done.
Get ready to not just retire, but to absolutely own it.
We're just not that cool anymore, but we've learned a thing or two since the 80s.
We do still have albums and cassette tapes. We do still listen to them. It is a reminder that we were once the cool kids. Now, we too, are the adults in the room.
We are empty nesters, treating our dog like our kid, caring for aging and ailing parents, exercising like mad to keep our bodies together. Our kid now lives across country from us now.
And we are trying to build financial health for ourselves as we must begin to recognize that we are actually getting old. The year 2000 wasn't really "just a few years ago."
Your money deserves a plan built around your story.

Altalune means "over the moon." That's how we want you to feel about your finances, and our commitment to you.
We support you with your finances so you can enjoy your meaningful life. Being cool, of course.
Money can be complicated. And for us, Gen Xers, we definitely get it from all sides. That's why we're here -- you show up as you are, honestly and bring your real questions and anxieties to the table. The real value we bring -- we aren't the typical financial shop where yield curves, index funds and PE ratios are the performance--we talk about you, your hobbies, dreams, the music you love, the movies you watch, the vacations and the concerns.
We know life can be hard, but your money shouldn't be.
